The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
